Youth Volleyball age team are the only teams that boys may play on in Michigan. Teams with boys may play in any one day event.
By AAU regulations teams with boys may NOT play in girls divisions at any Grand Prix or Super Regional or The Abu National Championships. For non Grand Prix or Super Regional. For all other 2 day events contact the tournament director.
It is important for club directors, parents and players to realize if the age modifications are used, players will have to move up 2 age divisions once ineligible for the modifications
This will allow those players who have early summer birthdays to compete with their age grouping but will not allow those students who are a full year ahead in age & physical maturity to compete in a lesser age division.
To have an exception for players on your team. You will need some official documentation as to their grade for the current school year. A report card would be good. There is no need to apply for a waiver. You have to have this documentation with you at all tournaments in case their is a question about the eligibility of the player.
If you are going to AAU Nationals you will have to adhere to the age divisions listed on www.aausports.org No age waivers are allowed at the National Championships.
